Northern NSW Local Health District is seeking motivated Locum Orthopaedics RMOs / JMOs to support orthopaedic services across regional hospital settings.

This role is suited to junior doctors looking to build surgical experience while gaining exposure across emergency presentations, ward management, theatre assistance and fracture clinic work.

You will work closely with senior registrars and consultants in a collaborative, teaching-focused environment, making this a strong opportunity for doctors exploring surgical pathways.

Clinical Environment

You will provide Orthopaedics RMO / JMO support in regional hospital settings within Northern NSW LHD.

- Hands-on exposure – assist across orthopaedic theatres, fracture clinics and ED presentations
- Skill development – build confidence in acute trauma, fracture management and perioperative care

Patient Demographic

You will support a broad orthopaedic patient mix, including trauma presentations, fracture clinic patients, surgical inpatients, post-operative patients, ED referrals and patients requiring assessment, management planning, escalation or ongoing orthopaedic care. Key Duties

- Provide Orthopaedics RMO / JMO support across rostered shifts
- Assist with ward-based orthopaedic care and patient reviews
- Support theatre lists, fracture clinics and outpatient requirements as needed
- Assist with ED presentations, trauma and fracture management
- Complete clinical documentation and handover
- Escalate patient concerns appropriately to senior medical staff

Requirements





- Current AHPRA General Registration
- PGY2+ with prior orthopaedics, surgery or ED experience desirable
- NSW Working with Children Check and Police Check
- Australian working rights
- Willingness to complete local credentialing and onboarding
- Current CV, references and compliance documents as required
