What We Are Looking For

We are seeking a support worker who:

- Has previous experience working with complex behaviours and high support needs
- Is confident supporting participants who may display challenging or unpredictable behaviours
- Can remain calm and composed during difficult situations
- Has excellent communication skills
- Is patient, respectful and non-judgemental
- Can follow a participant's Behaviour Support Plan and Individualised Support Plan
- Understands positive behaviour support and the importance of using the least restrictive approach
- Can identify and report changes in behaviour, incidents and risks appropriately
- Is able to complete detailed and accurate shift notes and incident reports
- Is reliable, punctual and consistent
- Can work independently while also communicating effectively with the broader support team
- Is comfortable supporting community access and planned activities
- Has positive situational awareness and understands the importance of participant and community safety
- Is willing to complete all required training and follow Armistice Services policies and procedure





Experience in the following areas will also be highly regarded:
- Complex behaviours
- Positive Behaviour Support
- Autism and intellectual disability
- Psychosocial disability
- Community participation
- One-on-one support
- Behaviour escalation and de-escalation
- Following Behaviour Support Plans
- Incident reporting and detailed shift documentation
- Working as part of a multidisciplinary support team

Essential Requirements Applicants must have, or be willing to obtain where applicable:
- NDIS Worker Screening Check
- Blue Card
- National Police Check
- First Aid Certificate
- CPR Certificate
- NDIS Worker Orientation / required NDIS training
- Current Australian driver's licence
- Reliable vehicle and appropriate vehicle insurance
- Right to work in Australia
- Relevant disability support qualifications or experience

A Certificate III in Individual Support (Disability) or higher qualification is desirable. Pay: $38.00 – $45.00 per hour

Expected hours: 20.0 – 24.0 per week
