- Clerk Grade 9/10 position with a salary range $133,348 - $146,945 per annum plus superannuation
- Temporary role (up to 9 September 2027) located in The Rocks, Sydney

About the role The Manager, People and Capability provides human resources advice and support to senior executives, people managers and staff across a broad range of HR matters. You will provide advice on employment conditions, awards, policies, performance, conduct and grievance matters, ensuring issues are managed appropriately and in line with legislation, public sector requirements and best practice.
You will also contribute to the development and delivery of people and capability strategies, plans and initiatives across the organisation. You will manage organisational change programs, including restructures and functional realignments, and use HR data, trends and insights to identify risks and inform executive decision-making. Working closely with the wider People and Capability team, you will help deliver consistent and practical people solutions and respond to changes in legislation and government policy.

Spearheading a whole-of-government approach to visitor economy growth, Destination NSW influences and shapes the visitor economy through strategic research, policy and thought leadership, stakeholder engagement and consultation, commercial partnerships and investment in visitor experiences, business support, marketing and events. Destination NSW is also the major investor in Business Events Sydney (BESydney) for the purpose of securing more international and domestic conventions, incentive travel reward programs, corporate events and exhibitions.

About You
You are an experienced HR professional with a robust background in business partnering and providing practical advice to executives and managers. You have experience designing and implementing people strategies and initiatives that support business objectives, while helping leaders effectively manage and develop their teams and improve employee engagement and performance. You have a strong understanding of employment legislation, government policies and current public sector trends, and can apply this knowledge to provide sound and consistent HR advice.
You can manage competing priorities across a broad range of HR matters, while delivering practical people and capability initiatives that meet the needs of the organisation.
