Position: Motor Mechanic
Salary: $75,000 – $85,000 per annum plus 12% Superannuation
Hours: 38 hours per week
Mode: Full Time

Experience required: Minimum 1 year of relevant experience as a Motor Mechanic or in a similar role

Driftlab Automotive is currently seeking a skilled and motivated Motor Mechanic to join their growing automotive team. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced automotive professional to work in a fast-paced workshop environment specialising in vehicle servicing, diagnostics, repairs and performance-focused automotive solutions.

The successful candidate will play an important role in ensuring vehicles are maintained, repaired, and operating safely and efficiently to meet customer and industry standards.

Duties and Responsibilities (including but not limited to):
• Diagnose mechanical and electrical faults using diagnostic equipment and testing tools
• Conduct inspections of engines, transmissions, steering systems, brakes, suspension and other vehicle components
• Repair or replace defective and worn mechanical parts and components
• Perform scheduled vehicle servicing including oil changes, tune-ups, fluid checks and lubrication services
• Remove, dismantle, repair, and reassemble engines, gearboxes and other vehicle assemblies
• Carry out fault-finding procedures using computerized diagnostic systems




• Test vehicles after repairs and make necessary adjustments to ensure proper performance and safety
• Perform maintenance and repair work in accordance with manufacturer specifications and workshop standards
• Maintain accurate service records and report identified issues to management and/or customers
• Ensure all work complies with workplace health and safety requirements and industry regulations
• Maintain workshop cleanliness and ensure tools and equipment are used safely and efficiently

Qualifications:
• Certificate III in Light Vehicle Mechanical Technology or equivalent qualification
• Diploma of Automotive or relevant automotive trade qualification preferred but not mandatory

Other Skills and Requirements:
• Minimum 1 year of relevant experience as a Motor Mechanic or in a similar role
• Strong knowledge of vehicle diagnostics, repairs and automotive systems
• Experience using computerized diagnostic equipment and workshop tools
• Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills
• Excellent attention to detail and time management skills
• Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced workshop setting
• Strong understanding of workplace safety and automotive compliance requirements
• Passion for the automotive industry and commitment to quality workmanship
