Role Description The Manual Handling Consultant is a full or part-time, role based in Sydney NSW. This role involves assessing manual handling practices in healthcare and related environments, with a focus on protected use of patient lifting and handling equipment. The consultant will develop and deliver training programs, and provide guidance on best-practice manual handling techniques.

Day-to-day tasks include collaborating with clients and dealers, preparing recommendations,



and supporting the implementation of safer systems of work. The role also includes staying current with relevant standards, contributing feedback to the product development team, and promoting Allegro Concepts’ solutions to improve safety and comfort for patients and staff.

Qualifications

- Experience in manual handling assessment and training, including safe patient handling practices and ergonomic evaluation.
- Strong communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills for delivering training and consulting with diverse stakeholders.
- Comfort with on-site work, including travel within the region to client locations and dealer partners as required.
- Relevant qualification in occupational therapy, physiotherapy, nursing, occupational health and safety, ergonomics, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
- Proficiency with basic computer applications (e.g., email, word processing, presentation tools) for report writing and training materials.
- Prior experience with patient lifting and handling equipment or mobility aids is highly regarded.
