Indigenous General Practice Trainee Network (IGPTN)

Role: Medical Education Team Manager

Location: Flexible within Australia (100% work from home, with some travel)

Employment Type: Part-time, ongoing

Reports to: IGPTN Chief Executive Officer

About the role The Medical Education Team Manager provides non-clinical leadership and people management for IGPTN's Medical Education Team. The role ensures the team is appropriately resourced, supported, coordinated and accountable for delivering high-quality, culturally safe and responsive education in line with IGPTN's Strategic Plan, annual workplan and funding commitments. The position is the formal line manager for Senior Medical Educators, Medical Educators and coordinates the casual pool of Medical Facilitators and subject matter experts.

The role separates people management and operational oversight from clinical and educational leadership. It does not provide clinical supervision or determine clinical educational content; advice on clinical quality and education is sought from the relevant Senior Medical Educator.

Key Responsibilities:

- Lead, support and manage the Medical Education Team, including Senior Medical Educators and Medical Educators
- Foster a culturally safe,



collaborative and high-performing team environment
- Oversee workforce planning, recruitment, onboarding and resource allocation
- Monitor workloads, leave, contracts and team capacity
- Coordinate reporting and ensure delivery against organisational priorities and funding commitments
- Work closely with educational leaders to support quality education delivery

About you You are an Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander person, and an experienced people leader who enjoys supporting and developing staff in a remote setting. You bring strong organisational and project management skills, sound judgement and the ability to build trusted relationships across a diverse range of stakeholders.

You will also have

- Experience managing staff performance, wellbeing and development
- Experience coordinating dispersed or remote teams
- Strong communication, reporting and stakeholder engagement skills
- A commitment to culturally safe and inclusive workplaces
- Relevant qualifications or equivalent experience

Desirable:
- Experience in medical education, health workforce development, general practice training or Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander health
