We are seeking an experienced Mechanical Shutdown Coordinator to join a major industrial operation in Pinjarra. This is a 9-month contract supporting the planning, coordination and delivery of a significant shutdown scheduled for July 2027. The role will suit a mechanically minded shutdown professional who can coordinate work scopes, schedules and resources while working closely with maintenance, operations and project stakeholders.
Additional hours will be required during the shutdown period.
About the role
As Mechanical Shutdown Coordinator, you will support the shutdown from planning and preparation through to execution. You will help ensure mechanical work is appropriately scoped, scheduled and coordinated for safe and efficient delivery. You will come on early and assist with the planning and coordination of this major shutdown.
Key responsibilities will include
- Coordinating mechanical shutdown activities and work scopes
- Supporting shutdown planning, scheduling and execution
- Monitoring schedules, priorities and progress
- Using MS Project or similar scheduling software
- Coordinating with maintenance, operations, contractors and other stakeholders
- Supporting the resolution of scheduling and execution issues
- Maintaining clear communication throughout shutdown preparation and delivery
About you
A mechanical trade background is highly regarded, particularly experience as a Boilermaker/Welder or Mechanical Fitter.
You will ideally bring
- Previous shutdown, maintenance or major outage experience
- A strong mechanical trade or maintenance background
- Experience with MS Project or similar scheduling software
- Strong coordination, planning and communication skills
- The ability to work effectively across multiple work groups and priorities
- Steam systems experience – desirable
- Gas turbine experience – desirable
