This exciting Postdoctoral Research Fellow - Rural Health opportunity will enable you to build your research profile while contributing to impactful projects that address some of the most pressing healthcare challenges facing rural communities.

Working alongside leading researchers in a supportive, inclusive and cutting-edge environment, you will play a key role in advancing high-quality mixed-methods research, fostering meaningful partnerships, and translating research outcomes into positive change for communities.

Key responsibilities will include:

- Research: Lead and contribute to high-quality mixed-methods research projects, publish in reputable peer-reviewed journals, present research findings at conferences, collaborate on interdisciplinary research initiatives, support the development of competitive research funding applications, and contribute to research that improves the health and wellbeing of regional, rural and remote Australians.
- Supervision and Researcher Development: Support the supervision of Honours and Higher Degree by Research students, contribute to researcher development activities, provide mentoring and guidance to emerging researchers,



foster a positive and collaborative research culture, and demonstrate personal effectiveness in supervision and research capacity building.
- Citizenship and Service: Develactivities and productive partnerships with internal and external stakeholders, contribute to service and engagement activities, provide support and mentorship to colleagues, participate in relevant committees and administrative activities, and uphold the values and strategic objectives of the University.

About You

- Completion or near completion of a PhD in medicine, public health, rural health, or a related health discipline.
- Demonstrated experience leading, coordinating and contributing to high-quality non-lab-based research, including mixed-methods research projects.
- An emerging research profile in rural health, supported by publications in peer-reviewed journals and conference presentations.
- Evidence of contributing to competitive research funding applications and collaborative research initiatives.
- Strong interpersonal and organisational skills, with the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, collaborative and supportive team environment.
- Understanding of, or experience working within,



a rural healthcare or rural health workforce research setting, together with a current Queensland driver's licence.

About Rural Clinical School

Located within the UQ Medical School, the Rural Clinical School (RCS) is the largest rural clinical school hosted by a single university. It works to foster and sustain a skilled and dynamic medical workforce to meet the needs of rural, regional, and remote Queensland.

The Rural Clinical School provides students with rigorous clinical training built upon hands-on experiences in hospitals and community-based practices.
