About the Role

We are seeking an experienced and passionate Mental Health Clinician to join the headspace Esperance team. This role provides advanced clinical assessment, intervention and care coordination services for young people experiencing mild to moderate mental health challenges, while also offering clinical leadership and support across the multidisciplinary team.

Working closely with the Clinical Lead and Centre Manager, you will coordinate intake and triage processes, manage a clinical caseload of young people with complex needs, provide evidence-based therapeutic interventions, and contribute to the ongoing development of high-quality youth mental health services. This is an exciting prospect to make a meaningful impact within a supportive and collaborative clinical environment.

Key Responsibilities Include:

- Deliver high-quality clinical services to young people and their families in accordance with the headspace model and evidence-based practice.

- Conduct comprehensive assessments, develop treatment plans, and provide therapeutic interventions to young people experiencing mental health concerns.

- Coordinate intake, triage, referrals, waiting lists and case allocation processes in collaboration with the Clinical Lead.

- Manage a clinical caseload of young people with complex and diverse mental health needs.

- Provide clinical leadership, consultation, mentoring and support to multidisciplinary team members.

- Participate in and contribute to case reviews, intake meetings, risk management discussions, and clinical governance activities.

- Support the implementation of demand management strategies and psychosocial assessments.

- Maintain accurate, timely, and compliant clinical records and documentation.





- Build and maintain effective relationships with local health, mental health, and community service providers.

- Assist in the delivery of mental health literacy and help-seeking education sessions within schools and the broader community.

- Provide clinical input into community engagement, youth participation, and family engagement initiatives.

- Contribute to service development, continuous improvement, and quality assurance activities.

You'll Need

- Qualification as a Psychologist, Social Worker, Occupational Therapist, Mental Health Nurse or other eligible allied health professional with current registration or membership with the relevant professional body.

- Current registration with AHPRA or eligibility for membership with the Australian Association of Social Workers (AASW), where applicable.

- Demonstrated experience providing clinical services to young people experiencing mild to moderate mental health concerns.





- Experience delivering evidence-based therapeutic interventions using a range of treatment modalities.

- Strong clinical assessment, risk assessment, and case management skills.

- Ability to engage effectively with vulnerable young people and their families, including those presenting complex needs.

- Sound understanding of youth mental health issues, service systems, and referral pathways.

- Demonstrated ability to make sound clinical decisions and provide appropriate interventions.

- Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team.

- Highly developed written, verbal, and analytical communication skills.

- Strong organisational, administration, and client record management skills.

- Competence using clinical information systems and information technology platforms.

Desirable

- Experience working with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples, culturally and linguistically diverse communities, and LGBTQIA young people.

- Understanding of the Australian health care system, primary health care services and youth mental health service frameworks.

- Experience working within the headspace model or similar youth-focused mental health services.

Pre-employment Requirements

- Current Driver's License (C or A Class)

- National Police Clearance (within 3 months)

- Working with Children Check
