We are seeking a mature, reliable and experienced Support Worker to provide ongoing support to a 61-year-old male NDIS participant living in Minto, NSW 2566.
The participant has a history of stroke and requires a consistent support worker who can assist him both at home and in the community.
This is an ongoing position for someone who values consistency, reliability and building a positive professional relationship with the participant.
Hours
Monday: 11:00 am – 2:00 pm
Tuesday: 11:00 am – 2:00 pm
Total: 6 hours per week
Location: Minto NSW 2566
Frequency: Ongoing weekly shifts
Applicants should only apply if they can reliably commit to both Monday and Tuesday shifts on an ongoing basis.
Duties The role may include:
- Assistance with day-to-day activities at home
- Community access and participation
- Accompanying the participant to appointments, shopping and other activities
- Supporting the participant to maintain independence
- Assistance with household tasks where required
- Providing companionship and social support
- Encouraging choice, independence and community engagement
- Completing appropriate progress/case notes following shifts
About You We are looking for someone who is:
- Mature, patient and respectful
- Reliable and punctual
- Experienced in disability or community support
- Comfortable supporting a participant who has experienced a stroke
- Able to build rapport while maintaining professional boundaries
- Familiar with person-centred NDIS support
- Available every Monday and Tuesday from 11:00 am to 2:00 pm
Essential Requirements
Applicants should have
- NDIS Worker Screening Check
- Working with Children Check where applicable
- Current First Aid and CPR
- Valid Australian driver's licence
- Reliable and insured vehicle
- Appropriate Australian working rights
- Relevant disability/support work experience
- Ability to provide required worker compliance documents
Experience supporting people following a stroke, with mobility needs or neurological conditions will be highly regarded.
Location Preference
As the participant is based in Minto, preference will be given to applicants who live in Minto, Ingleburn, Macquarie Fields, Leumeah, Campbelltown or surrounding Macarthur/South-West Sydney suburbs.
