Experienced Disability Support Workers Wanted – Urgent

We are looking for experienced, energetic and reliable Disability Support Workers to support a 23-year-old female and her 10-year-old brother in a rural/farm environment.

This is a busy and active household. We are looking for workers who enjoy getting involved and keeping support meaningful and engaging. Activities may include community outings, group sports, fitness, shopping, recreational activities, spending time outdoors and assisting the participants with their animals. This is not a role where support is mainly sitting at home all day — we want workers who are proactive and enjoy being part of the participants’ daily lives.

Available shifts include:

- Day, evening, weekend and active overnight shifts supporting the 23-year-old female
- Approximately 4–5 hour shifts supporting the 10-year-old male
- Longer 10–12 hour shifts during weekends, school holidays and public holidays

We are looking for workers who have previous experience supporting people with high or complex needs, behaviours of concern and children with high support needs. You must be confident providing personal care and able to remain calm and professional during challenging situations without taking behaviours personally. Explicit communication is very important.



Workers need to have good spoken and written English and be able to understand and follow detailed instructions.

You must also be comfortable around animals and willing to support the participants with their daily animal-related responsibilities.

As the property is in a rural location, you must have your own reliable vehicle to travel to and from work. Drop-offs are not suitable. Having your own vehicle available is also important in case of an emergency. A separate vehicle is provided for transporting participants during shifts.

Reliability and punctuality are extremely important. Mum is preparing to return to work and urgently needs a dependable team in place. Please only arrange a trial shift if you are genuinely committed to attending. If you cancel at short notice or do not attend your first scheduled shift, another shift may not be offered, as the family cannot continue setting aside time for trials that do not attend.

There are plenty of hours available for the right workers. We are looking for people who can have a laugh, get involved in activities, remain professional when situations become challenging and become a reliable part of the support team.
