Lead governance and secretariat processes, coordinate stakeholder communications, and support effective decision-making across a national program.
About the Position
As a Secretariat and Stakeholder Communications Officer, you will lead the end-to-end secretariat function for the National Support Unit’s governance committees, advisory groups and leadership team. You will coordinate agendas, papers, minutes and action tracking, manage stakeholder correspondence and registers, and prepare high-quality briefings and updates.
Working with committee Chairs, stakeholders and program teams, you will ensure governance processes and communications are timely, accurate, culturally appropriate and confidential, while maintaining effective records, systems and workflows and driving continuous improvement across secretariat processes.
About You To be successful, you will require:
- A relevant degree with subsequent experience, or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience in governance, secretariat or stakeholder communications roles.
- Demonstrated experience managing end-to-end secretariat functions for boards, committees or governance bodies, including agendas, papers, minutes and action tracking.
- Strong organisational and time management skills, with the ability to work autonomously, manage competing priorities and deliver outcomes with minimal supervision.
- High-level writing skills with experience preparing professional committee papers, reports, briefings, correspondence and stakeholder communications.
- Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to build and manage effective relationships with senior internal and external stakeholders.
- Demonstrated ability to manage confidential and sensitive information with discretion, tact and sound judgement.
- Ability to work respectfully and effectively with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples, communities and organisations, with a strong commitment to cultural safety.
- Strong digital literacy, including Microsoft Office and contemporary committee management tools, with the ability to improve systems and processes.
- Experience within the tertiary education or health sector will be highly regarded.

Appointment is contingent upon receipt of a satisfactory National Criminal History check and a valid NT Working with Children clearance
Remuneration
Appointment to this role will be at Professional Level 8. The base salary will be in the range of $111,924 - $126,533 per annum. The total remuneration package will be in the range of $130,951 - $148,043 per annum, including 17% superannuation.
