Graduating as an Occupational Therapist is an exciting milestone, and choosing your first workplace is one of the most important decisions you'll make.

At Aligned OT, we don't expect new graduates to simply walk in on day one and know exactly what to do.

That's why we've developed a structured 6-week Graduate Program designed to support your transition from university into clinical practice, giving you the time, guidance and hands-on experience to gradually build your confidence as an Occupational Therapist.

Located in the heart of Penrith, our purpose-designed clinic is just a 10-minute walk from Penrith train station and public transport. We provide Occupational Therapy, Speech Pathology and Dietetics to children and their families.

Our Occupational Therapists work across both our clinic and the local community, including schools and preschools, providing plenty of variety and opportunities to develop your paediatric experience.

Your first 6 weeks are about learning

Starting your first OT role shouldn't mean being handed a full caseload and expected to figure everything out yourself.

Your first six weeks at Aligned OT are specifically structured to help you learn, observe, practise and gradually transition into managing your own caseload.

Throughout the program, you'll have opportunities to:

- Shadow experienced Occupational Therapists
- Observe assessments and therapy sessions
- Participate in joint sessions
- Learn how to conduct paediatric assessments
- Develop your clinical reasoning and goal setting
- Learn how to plan engaging, goal-focused therapy sessions
- Build confidence communicating with parents and caregivers
- Develop your clinical documentation and report-writing skills
- Learn how to work within schools and preschool environments
- Become familiar with common paediatric presentations and intervention approaches
- Gradually begin seeing your own clients with support available
- Receive regular feedback, mentoring and supervision





As your confidence develops, your caseload will gradually increase. The support doesn't stop at six weeks. You'll continue to receive weekly one-on-one supervision, mentoring and opportunities for professional development as you continue growing as an Occupational Therapist.

From structured assessments and streamlined documentation to our unique session planning resources, activity library and clinical systems, you'll have practical tools available to help you plan and deliver therapy.

Instead of spending hours trying to create every session from scratch, you'll have access to resources and processes that support your clinical reasoning while helping you develop your own therapeutic style.

About the role As you progress through the Graduate Program and build your caseload, you'll support children with a variety of developmental needs, including:
- Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD)
- ADHD
- GDD and developmental delay
- Emotional regulation difficulties
- Executive functioning challenges
- Fine and gross motor delays




- Sensory processing differences
- Self-care and daily living skills
- School readiness

Your role will gradually include:
- Conducting comprehensive assessments
- Developing goal-focused therapy plans
- Delivering evidence-based intervention
- Providing therapy within our clinic, schools and preschools
- Collaborating with families, educators and other health professionals
- Completing clinical documentation, reports and recommendations
- Working as part of our multidisciplinary team

About you

You'll be someone who

- Is graduating this year or has recently graduated with a Bachelor or Master's degree in Occupational Therapy
- Is eligible for AHPRA registration
- Holds, or is willing to obtain, a current Working With Children Check
- Holds a current driver's licence and has access to a vehicle
- Has a genuine passion for working with children and their families
- Is enthusiastic, motivated and eager to develop their skills
- Values teamwork and family-centred practice
- Wants a workplace where they can continue learning and developing as a clinician
