Company

Our client is an established Australian engineering business specialising in the design, manufacture and delivery of pumping and water infrastructure solutions.

Working with water authorities, councils, civil contractors and major property developers, they deliver complete pump station projects from initial design and engineering through to manufacture, installation and commissioning.

Position

Based in Canberra, the Operations Manager is a key leadership position responsible for the overall operational and commercial performance of the business.

Reporting to the General Manager and Board of Directors, you will lead the delivery of the company's business strategy, with responsibility for projects, people, operational performance and full P&L.;

The focus will be on ensuring projects are delivered effectively, improving operational efficiency and profitability, and driving consistent execution of systems and processes across the business.

Key Responsibilities

- Lead day-to-day operations and project delivery across the business
- Full P&L; responsibility, including budgets, forecasting, margins and commercial performance
- Oversee projects from design and engineering through manufacture, installation, commissioning and handover
- Lead and support internal engineering and project management teams
- Manage subcontractors and ensure projects are delivered safely, on time and within budget
- Drive operational efficiency,



project controls and continuous improvement
- Work closely with the General Manager and Board to execute the broader business strategy
- Build robust relationships with clients, consultants, contractors and key stakeholders

Requirements

- Engineering, construction or infrastructure project delivery background
- Strong understanding of project and commercial management
- Experience leading multidisciplinary teams and managing operational performance
- Demonstrated P&L; and financial management capability
- Strong leadership, communication and stakeholder management skills
- Water, wastewater, pumping or broader civil infrastructure experience would be highly regards
