About you:

You are a meticulous editor with a sharp eye for detail and a passion for clear, accurate and accessible content. You bring experience editing and proofreading content in online environments, such as Learning Management Systems or websites, and you understand what it takes to make digital learning materials consistent, readable and accessible to every student. You thrive when juggling multiple projects against established timelines, and you communicate clearly and tactfully, helping colleagues lift the quality of their work.

Purpose of the position

Proofread, review and edit academic content before it is published, ensuring it is accurate,



readable, aligned with the appropriate AQF level and consistent with the VU Online style guide.

Conduct quality assurance on new and existing unit builds in line with VU Online design principles, agreed unit blueprints and WCAG 2.0 standards, ensuring all materials are appropriately attributed and all links and Articulate 360 and H5P artefacts are operational.

Work closely with the Student Delivery and Learning Design function to build team capacity, and contribute to the continuous improvement of VU Online’s learning design model through workshops and post-Study Period process reviews.

Selection criteria

A Bachelor’s Degree or higher in a relevant field (such as English, Journalism or Communication) and extensive relevant experience; or an equivalent combination of education and relevant experience.

Demonstrated experience in editing and/or copywriting.

Demonstrated knowledge and experience of editing online (e.g. in Learning Management Systems or websites).

Demonstrated ability to work on a variety of projects simultaneously to ensure work progresses according to established timelines.

Well-developed interpersonal and communication skills (both written and oral) and the ability to effectively communicate concepts to colleagues and team members.

Desired selection criteria

Demonstrated understanding of WCAG 2.0 standards.
