About the role

As an OOSHC Educator, you will support the daily operation of Before School Care, After School Care and Vacation Care programs. This role offers between 24 and 32 hours per week during school terms, with additional hours available during Vacation Care. Hours are worked across our Before School Care and After School Care programs, Monday to Friday.

This role would suit someone who understands the needs of school aged children, thrives in a busy and energetic environment, and enjoys creating fun, engaging and inclusive experiences. We are also interested in applicants who have the capacity or potential to take on leadership responsibilities within an OOSHC service.

Key responsibilities

- Support the daily operation of Before School Care, After School Care and Vacation Care programs
- Organise and supervise engaging recreational and educational experiences
- Build warm, respectful relationships with children, families, schools and colleagues
- Contribute to program planning using My Time, Our Place and child led approaches
- Support children's positive behaviour, wellbeing and self-regulation
- Promote children's safety, inclusion, agency and participation
- Follow service policies, procedures and child safe practices
- Positively represent Rainbow within our school communities
- Demonstrate the capacity, or potential, to lead and manage an OOSHC service

About you

- Has experience working in OOSHC, education, schools or another child focused setting
- Enjoys working with school aged children and understands their changing interests and needs
- Engages with children and families in a positive, friendly and professional manner
- Communicates with warmth, clarity and respect
- Is reliable, punctual, flexible and committed to being part of a team




- Has leadership skills or the potential to support and mentor other educators
- Understands child safeguarding principles and mandatory reporting responsibilities
- Is available for a range of shifts across a Monday to Friday roster, including school holiday periods
- Holds, or is working towards, a qualification relevant to working with school aged children such as Certificate III or Diploma in School Age Education and Care, Certificate III or Diploma in Early Childhood Education and Care, or a teaching qualification in Early Childhood, Primary or Secondary Education
- Holds, or is willing and eligible to obtain prior to commencing, a current NSW Working with Children Check clearance, HLTAID012 – Provide First Aid in an education and care setting, and CHCPRT001 – Identify and respond to children and young people at risk or CHCPRT025 – Identify and report children and young people at risk
