Paint Shop Sales Assistant

About us

Chemstuk has manufactured protective and decorative coatings in Melbourne since 1999. We make what we sell — epoxy, polyaspartic, polyurethane and cementitious systems under our Indopox, Dur-Aspart, U-Krete, Extopa and Beton Seal brands. Our factory and trade counter are both in Thomastown, and our customers are painters, floor applicators, builders and renovators.

The role

You'll be the face of our trade counter, and you'll also be on the phone growing the customer base. Every account you open pays you.

Day to day

- Serve trade and retail customers at the counter, by phone and by email
- Make outbound calls to painters, applicators and builders to open new accounts
- Help customers choose the right product for the job, and work out how much they need
- Prepare quotes and follow them up — persistently
- Tint and batch product, and pick and pack orders
- Keep the counter, displays and stock in order
- Process orders and invoices in our system

About you We'll train you on the products. What you bring:

- Experience in paint, hardware, building supplies or a similar trade retail environment
- Proven cold calling or outbound sales experience — you're comfortable picking up the phone to someone who isn't expecting your call, and you don't take a "no" personally




- A stable work history. This is a long-term position and we're looking for someone who wants to build a career here, not a stopgap
- Comfortable dealing with tradespeople — straightforward, no fuss
- Valuable with numbers: coverage rates, mix ratios, quantities
- Reliable and punctual, and happy working in a small team where everyone pitches in
- Current driver's licence and full Australian working rights

A painting or building trade background, or hands-on experience with floor coatings, is a real advantage but not essential.
