Key Responsibilities

- Maintain accurate and up-to-date accounting records
- Process accounts payable and accounts receivable
- Enter and reconcile bank transactions
- Prepare and process supplier payments
- Reconcile bank, credit card and other accounts
- Issue customer invoices and monitor outstanding accounts
- Follow up overdue customer payments
- Process payroll and employee-related payments, if required
- Prepare and lodge BAS and other ATO requirements, or liaise with the external accountant
- Maintain GST records
- Assist with month-end financial procedures
- Prepare monthly Profit & Loss, Balance Sheet and Cash Flow reports
- Provide management with financial information and reporting as required
- Maintain organised financial documentation
- Liaise with the company's accountant, suppliers and customers when required
- Identify discrepancies and resolve bookkeeping issues

Skills & Experience

- Previous bookkeeping experience, preferably in a small to medium-sized business




- Strong understanding of Australian bookkeeping and GST requirements
- Experience with Xero, MYOB or similar accounting software
- Good Excel skills
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy
- Good organisational and time-management skills
- Ability to work independently and meet deadlines
- Professional communication skills
- High level of confidentiality and integrity
