Are you an experienced Payroll Officer who enjoys working in a busy, high-volume workplace where accuracy, teamwork and great service genuinely matter?
Talentpath is partnering with a large, well-established organisation with an impressive footprint across Australia and New Zealand to find an experienced Payroll Officer to join their collaborative Payroll Operations team on a 10-month fixed-term contract.
Working within a large-scale payroll function, you’ll play an important role in ensuring employees are paid accurately and on time, while supporting managers and employees with payroll queries and building your knowledge across complex payroll processes, awards and systems.
What’s in it for you?
- A genuinely supportive and welcoming team where people enjoy working together.
- A fast-paced, dynamic role that will keep you busy and give you plenty of variety.
- Flexible working arrangements to support work-life balance.
- Flexible start and finish times, giving you greater control over your working day.
- Modern office facilities with a great working environment.
- A table tennis table for a little friendly competition between pay runs!
- And perhaps most importantly, dog-friendly Fridays - because every office is better with a four-legged colleague.
What you’ll be doing:
- Supporting the accurate and timely processing of fortnightly payroll.
- Processing time and attendance data, leave, superannuation, taxation, deductions and employee changes.
- Managing payroll queries from employees and managers via tickets, email and phone.
- Providing advice around payroll processes, policies and relevant award requirements.
- Identifying and escalating payroll or time and attendance discrepancies.
- Maintaining payroll documentation, process guides, checklists and audit procedures.
- Working closely with Payroll, HR, Finance, HRIS, Reporting and Compliance teams.
What we’re looking for:
- Previous payroll experience within a medium to large organisation.
- Strong understanding of end-to-end payroll processes.
- High attention to detail and confidence working to payroll deadlines.
- A customer-focused approach and confidence dealing with employees and managers at different levels.
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage competing priorities.
- A positive, collaborative attitude and willingness to jump in and support the wider team.
