Aligned Search is partnering with a large organisation undergoing a significant payroll transformation and are looking for an experienced Payroll Transformation Manager to lead the function through a period of remediation, process improvement and offshore transition.

This is a hands-on transformation role suited to someone who has strong payroll remediation experience and has successfully managed payroll change, process improvement and/or the transition of payroll operations to an offshore team.

About the role:

- Leading a comprehensive payroll remediation and transformation program
- Reviewing existing payroll processes, controls, systems and governance
- Identifying and resolving payroll compliance, process and operational risks
- Managing payroll remediation activities, including root-cause analysis and corrective actions
- Reviewing complex Awards, EAs and payroll processes to ensure compliance
- Documenting and standardising payroll processes and controls
- Identifying opportunities to improve payroll efficiency, accuracy and governance
- Developing the operating model and processes required to support an offshore payroll function
- Leading the transition of payroll activities from the existing team to an offshore provider/team
- Managing knowledge transfer, process documentation, training and handover
- Working closely with HR, Finance, Technology and senior stakeholders throughout the transformation
- Establishing appropriate governance, controls,



SLAs and performance measures for the offshore model
- Ensuring payroll remains accurate, compliant and operationally stable throughout the transition

About You:

- Significant experience managing payroll remediation and transformation projects
- Strong understanding of Australian payroll legislation, Awards and Enterprise Agreements
- Experience identifying payroll compliance issues and driving remediation through to resolution
- Previous experience transitioning or offshoring payroll operations
- Strong process mapping, documentation and continuous improvement capability
- Experience working across payroll systems, processes and integrations
- Strong stakeholder management skills, including working with senior HR, Finance and executive stakeholders
- The ability to take ownership of a complex payroll environment and establish structure, governance and accountability
- Excellent project management and change management capability
- A hands-on approach, you’ll be comfortable getting into the detail of payroll while also managing the broader transformation
