Reporting to the Music Tuition Coordinator, you will deliver high-quality, one-on-one private piano lessons to primary and secondary students onsite during standard school hours in our dedicated music tuition studio. This is an exciting opportunity to join a dynamic team of over 200 Christian staff between the Tamworth and Gunnedah schools.

Carinya will provide:

- A portfolio of 12+ existing students requiring Piano tuition.
- Air conditioned music studio with piano.
- Performance opportunities for students.

A successful applicant will possess strong technical and performance proficiency in piano, with the ability to engage young learners, foster enthusiasm for music and adapt their teaching to suit a range of ages, abilities and learning styles.

Preferred Skills

- Technical and performance proficiency in Piano.
- Teaching experience.
- Ability to engage young learners, foster enthusiasm, and adapt teaching methods to various learning styles.
- Ability to manage lesson scheduling and billing/invoicing.
- Good communication skills with co-workers, school staff and parents.

Carinya seeks to support quality education through opportunities for students to develop their musical skills, confidence and enjoyment through individual music tuition.

OBJECTIVES OF POSITION To provide high-quality, one-on-one piano tuition to primary and secondary students at Carinya Christian School.



To develop students’ technical and performance skills, foster enthusiasm for music, and support each student’s individual learning and musical development.

- Duties

- Provide high-quality, one-on-one piano tuition to primary and secondary students during standard school hours.
- Plan and deliver lessons appropriate to each student’s age, ability, learning style and musical development.
- Develop students’ technical proficiency, performance skills, musical understanding and confidence.
- Foster enthusiasm for music and encourage students in their ongoing musical development.
- Prepare students for performances and other musical opportunities as appropriate.
- Manage lesson scheduling in consultation with students, parents and relevant School staff.
- Manage billing and invoicing associated with private tuition.
- Communicate effectively and professionally with students, parents, School staff and the wider music team.
- Maintain appropriate records relating to student tuition and progress.
- Work collaboratively with the School’s music staff and support the broader music program where appropriate.
- Maintain a safe, respectful and encouraging learning environment.
- Adhere to the School’s Child Protection, Work Health and Safety and other relevant policies and procedures.
- Attend relevant meetings or training as required, including Child Protection training.
- Undertake other reasonable duties related to the role as requested by the School.

- Classification & Commencement Lesson rates to be determined by the individual teacher in discussion with the Music Tuition Coordinator

Commencement The preferred commencement is Term 4, 2026, with Term 1, 2027 also available.
