About The Opportunity
This part-time (2 days per week)
fixed-term 15-month position will deliver a joint, co-funded research project to develop an Exploratory Subgraph Discovery and Search System, applying state of the art research methods. The role sits within a collaborative team of researchers and partners with documented experience and formal education in research methodology, and is responsible for screening primary research and existing systematic reviews, evaluating risk of bias using recognised tools, and extracting critical methodological information to support recommendations for higher quality research and to identify priority areas for future work. The position offers the opportunity to contribute to a project at the intersection of research methodology and applied research infrastructure, working closely with colleagues in the School of Business and Law and with external collaborators on the project.
About You The successful candidate will hold a PhD in an appropriate field and bring advanced knowledge of research methods, design and analysis, ideally supported by relevant coursework and a demonstrated record of applying this knowledge in publications or research projects. They will have experience conducting research through academic, professional or external partnerships, a record of publication in relevant top tier venues, and strong programming skills. The successful candidate will be able to work both independently and collaboratively within a team, and will bring recognition as a discipline expert, evidenced through avenues such as awards, conference or industry participation, involvement in organising committees, or consultancy work.
They will demonstrate the ability to adapt to changing priorities, manage competing deadlines, and maintain a high level of attention to detail, together with strong interpersonal,
oral and written communication skills.
