Position details:

Star of the Sea Primary School are seeking applications from enthusiastic and innovative teachers to join our vibrant learning community. Star of the Sea Catholic Primary School is a triple stream co-educational school of approximately 800 students from the Early Learning Centre (3 Year Old) to Year 6. The school is situated in the centre of Rockingham giving easy access to the surrounding suburbs. The school operates a 3 Year Old Early Learning Centre (open 5 days per week from 6am – 6pm) and a 4 Year Old Kindergarten Program operates (Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday) with 2 additional days (Thursday and Friday) that are optional.

Out of School Hours Care and Vacation Care are available at the school.

Star of the Sea offers a broad curriculum with specialist teachers across the learning areas of Science, ICT, PE, LOTE (Auslan) and Music. Star of the Sea has excellent IT infrastructure and resources as well as a variety of playground equipment, basketball courts and a large oval. Clear boundaries, routines and a consistent whole school approach allows students to flourish in a supportive learning environment.

Selection Criteria:

- Be a practising Catholic with an understanding of and commitment to, the ethos and mission of Catholic Education;

- A strong working knowledge of the Early Years Learning Framework, National Quality Standards and progressive early years pedagogy to promote best practice;

- Ability to organise, select and design content for effective teaching and differentiated learning;

- Experience in best practice pedagogy, incorporating explicit teaching with play-based learning;

- Competent use of digital technologies;

- Demonstrated ability to foster positive relationships and utilise effective classroom management practices to create a safe, supportive and inclusive learning environment that enhances student wellbeing;

- A team orientated, positive, professional, cooperative and collaborative educator who values and strives for continual professional growth and values feedback.

Qualifications Required:

- Minimum four-year teaching qualification

- Early Childhood Qualification (if applying for the Early Childhood Teaching positions)





- Have Accreditation to Teach Religious Education or working towards
