This is a combined Practice Manager / Practice Nurse position at a new, independently owned medical practice in Bell Park, Geelong. As a new practice, the role will be varied and hands-on. You will work closely with the Principal GP to establish efficient systems and workflows while also providing Practice Nurse support. Your responsibilities will evolve as the practice grows.
Key responsibilities
Practice Management
- Assisting with the establishment and opening of the new practice
- Day-to-day practice management and administration
- Establishing policies, procedures and workflows
- RACGP accreditation preparation and ongoing compliance
- Medicare, PRODA, HPOS and MyMedicare administration
- Practice software and administrative systems
- Billing and patient-management processes
- Recalls and reminder systems
- Staff recruitment, onboarding, rostering and supervision
- Privacy and records-management processes
Practice Nursing:
- Immunisations and vaccination management
- Cold-chain and vaccine-fridge management
- Wound care and dressings
- ECGs and clinical observations
- Health assessments and preventative healthcare
- Chronic disease management and care-plan support
- Patient education
- Infection prevention and control
- Recalls and clinical follow-up
- General treatment-room procedures
About you
- Current AHPRA registration as a Registered Nurse
- Australian General Practice nursing experience
- Previous Practice Manager, Assistant Practice Manager, Nurse Manager or senior Practice Nurse experience
- Robust understanding of Medicare and general-practice administration
- Experience with PRODA/HPOS
- Knowledge of RACGP accreditation
- Immunisation qualifications appropriate to the role
- Current CPR certification
- Experience with general-practice clinical software
- Excellent organisational and communication skills
About us
This is a new, independently owned medical practice in Bell Park, Geelong. The practice will initially operate as a small GP clinic with a strong interest in Women's Health, with plans to progressively expand its GP team and range of services.
