About the Role:

Are you an inspiring educator passionate about shaping young minds and nurturing faith?

We are seeking a dedicated Primary Islamic Studies Teacher to join our dynamic faculty. In this rewarding role, you will lead Shia Islamic Studies education across our primary school while integrating core Islamic values with the IB Primary Years Programme (PYP) framework.

Reporting jointly to the Head of Islamic Faculty and the PYP Coordinator, you will work side-by-side with mainstream classroom teachers to blend inquiry-based learning with rich Islamic teachings—connecting attributes like Hikmah (Wisdom) and Akhlaq (Character) directly to the IB Learner Profile.

Key Responsibilities

- Inquiry-Driven Teaching: Deliver engaging, age-appropriate Shia Islamic Studies lessons embedded within PYP Units of Inquiry.
- Collaborative Planning: Work closely with primary classroom teachers to design cross-curricular learning experiences.
- Spiritual Leadership: Model Islamic virtues (Akhlaq), guide students in prayer and spiritual growth, and support school commemorations.
- Curriculum Mapping: Document units, track progress, and map outcomes alongside the PYP Coordinator and Faculty Head.

What We Are Looking For

- Qualifications: A recognized Bachelor of Education (or equivalent) with active NESA registration and a valid NSW Working with Children Check (WWCC).
- Islamic Knowledge: Solid foundational background in Shia theology (Aqaid), jurisprudence (Fiqh), history, and Quranic studies tailored for primary learners.




- Pedagogical Understanding: Experience with—or a robust commitment to learning—the IB Primary Years Programme (PYP) inquiry model.
- Collaborative Mindset: Exceptional interpersonal skills and a desire to work collaboratively in a team teaching environment.
