Where Your Expertise Takes Shape

Harrison Infrastructure Group is seeking a full-time Principal Civil Designer/Engineer, ideally based in Toowoomba, QLD. HIG is also open to the role being based in its Brisbane, Sunshine Coast, Bundaberg or Rockhampton office.

This is a key senior technical role reporting to the Toowoomba Office Manager, joining HIG at a time of continued growth. The role is built around design excellence rather than formal team leadership, with the opportunity to step up and manage projects across the business.

No two projects look quite the same. Your work may span road design, subdivision design and wider civil infrastructure, tailored to your background and experience.

What You'll Deliver In this role, you will:

Design Leadership

- Scope and estimate civil design projects




- Prepare civil designs and produce detailed project design documentation
- Assign tasks and priorities to design and technical staff to ensure project requirements are met
- Mentor junior team members to build their technical capability

Project Management

- Lead the design and documentation of civil infrastructure projects from concept to completion
- Manage and coordinate subconsultants
- Maintain regular client engagement and manage stakeholder expectations
- Track project budgets, and forecast and report on project expenditure

What You'll Bring to the Drawing Board To qualify, you will need a minimum of an Associate Diploma in Civil Engineering and 15+ years' civil design experience across urban and rural roads, traffic and/or hydraulics.

You will also bring

- Advanced skills in AutoCAD, 12d and/or Civil 3D, supported by strong Microsoft Suite capability
- A proven track record in project management and cost control
- In-depth knowledge of Austroads, TMR and local authority standards, with experience applying local client design guidelines

Highly Regarded

- Experience on TMR projects
- Land development and subdivision design experience
- Advanced 12d capability
- Water Services Association (WSA) experience
