? Immediately available candidate An established Australian organisation is seeking an experienced Procurement Category Manager to provide immediate support to a high-performing procurement team during a busy period.
This is a hands-on role suited to someone who can hit the ground running, confidently engage senior stakeholders, and manage multiple procurement activities across a diverse range of categories.
You'll be joining a collaborative team environment where no two days look the same. One day you may be negotiating a software licence renewal, the next supporting a commercial services agreement or managing supplier contract negotiations.
The Opportunity
You'll partner with senior managers, business leaders and executives to deliver procurement outcomes across a broad portfolio of services and commodities.
A large focus of the role will be:
- Contract renewals and commercial negotiations
- End-to-end procurement activities
- Supplier and contract management
- Stakeholder engagement and influencing
- Procurement governance and process support
- Managing multiple procurement projects simultaneously
This role is less focused on running large-scale tenders and more focused on providing practical procurement support, commercial advice and delivering outcomes quickly.
About You
My client is looking for someone who can step in with minimal onboarding and add value from day one.
You'll likely bring:
- 5+ years' procurement experience within a service-based organisation, at a Category Management level.
- Strong contract management and negotiation experience
- Exposure to both services and commodity categories
- Experience managing end-to-end procurement processes
- Confidence engaging with senior stakeholders and executives
- Strong commercial acumen and decision-making ability
- A flexible, adaptable approach and willingness to work across unfamiliar categories when required
Experience from either private or public sector environments will be considered.
