PART LOGISTICS. PART ADMINISTRATION. PART FACILITATION.
Some days are calendars, qualifications and careful follow-up. Other days are clay, timber, trailers, packed vans and children deep in play. We are looking for someone who genuinely enjoys both.
The role The Program Operations Officer helps make sure the practical side of Educated by Nature works: equipment is ready, vehicles are organised, staff have what they need, qualifications are current, families are supported and programs are delivered well.
This is a genuinely mixed role for someone who likes variety and responsibility. You might move from a spreadsheet to a warehouse bench, from a family/customer phone call to a trailer, and from a qualification register to facilitating programs for children outdoors, sometimes in the same day.
What you'll actually do
- Look ahead at next week, next month and the coming term and make sure programs have the equipment, consumables, vehicles and practical support they need.
- Process and prepare program resources: clean and repair equipment, reclaim and prepare clay, chop and prepare timber, maintain tools, restock boxes and improve warehouse systems.
- Pack vehicles and trailers, coordinate vehicle movements and make sure the calendar and Deputy roster reflect who is driving and how staff are getting to programs.
- Maintain staff qualification and training records, track expiry dates and coordinate Working with Children Checks, First Aid, Bronze Medallion requirements, training modules, staff bios and Deputy availability.
- Complete KIN Village inclusion checks, follow up families where more information is needed and support onboarding of external support workers when required.
- Coordinate Junior Mentor volunteers, staff uniforms, office consumables and our small online shop.
- Facilitate school incursions, KIN Village, KIN Homeschool and occasional community or weekend programs.
- Notice better ways of doing things and help us improve systems, equipment and program processes over time.
Who will thrive here?
- You are highly organised and can think several weeks ahead while still managing today.
- You like systems, lists, calendars and accurate records, but you do not want to sit at a desk all week.
- You are practical and comfortable working with equipment, tools, vehicles, stock and physical resources.
- You enjoy working with children and families and can bring calm, engaging energy to a program.
- You work independently, solve problems and take ownership of the things you are responsible for.
- You are comfortable with a role that changes shape across the year rather than looking identical every week.
