Are you passionate about creating quality food and delivering outstanding customer experiences? We're looking for an enthusiastic and reliable Cook to join our team at The Village Café & Bar.

As a valued member of our café team, you'll prepare and present delicious meals, maintain high food safety standards, and contribute to a welcoming dining experience for our customers and community.

About the Role n

As a Casual Cook, you will:

n

- Prepare and cook menu items to a consistently high standard
n
- Ensure attractive food presentation and portion control
n
- Maintain a clean, organised, and compliant kitchen environment
n
- Monitor stock levels and communicate ordering requirements
n
- Follow food safety, hygiene, and workplace health and safety requirements
n
- Work efficiently during busy service periods while maintaining quality
n
- Support café operations, opening and closing duties, and team collaboration
n
- Assist with customer enquiries and special dietary requests professionally
n

About You n

To be successful in this role, you will have:

n

n
- Previous experience as a Cook, ideally within a café, restaurant, or similar hospitality environment
n
- Sound knowledge of food preparation techniques and food safety practices
n
- Strong organisational and time management skills
n
- A positive,



hands-on attitude and willingness to support the team
n
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
n
- A commitment to quality, professionalism, and customer service
n
- Flexibility to work a rotating roster, including weekends
n

Qualifications / Experience Required nn
- Proven experience as a cook, preferably in a café or similar setting
n
- Strong knowledge of cooking techniques and food safety regulations
n
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment
n
- A proactive and team- orientated mindset, always ready to help where needed
n
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
n
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality
n
- Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends
n
- HLTFSE001 – Follow Basic Food Safety Practices
n
- HLTAID011 – Provide First Aid
n
- Responsible Service of Alcohol Certificate (RSA)
n

- Cert III in Commercial Cookery (or equivalent) (desired)
n
- Previous experience in a kitchen (cafés, restaurants, pubs, or catering)
n
- Strong knowledge of food hygiene practices and kitchen safety standards
n
- Working with Children Check
n
- NDIS check (includes Police Check)

- Eligibility to work in Australia
