Work remotely (in Australia only) for a Melbourne based software engineering consultancy to support the architecture, engineering, operation, and automation of the Microsoft 365 tenant and Exchange Online platform of one of their global technology & engineering customers.

Hybrid remote/office based working is also available if purely remote is not ideal.

n

As a cloud platform specialist, you will ensure high availability, optimal performance, and efficiency across the tenant.

Key responsibilities n

n
- Lead and manage M365 Tenant Administration, including global Microsoft 365 tenant settings, directory synchronization, and core services
n
- Architect, configure, and maintain enterprise Exchange Online messaging infrastructure
n
- Oversee tenant lifecycle activities, optimize license allocation, and control operational costs
n
- Deploy new Microsoft cloud features, evaluate service updates, and enhance platform capabilities
n
- Develop Graph API and PowerShell scripts to automate platform administration and optimize performance
n
- Design redundant mail routes, establish disaster recovery procedures, and mitigate platform service disruptions
n
- Govern tenant-wide configurations, define service quotas, and manage license pooling efficiently
n
- Analyze M365 usage telemetry and performance metrics to drive platform cost optimization and resource allocation
n
- Lead platform updates, tenant migrations, and infrastructure maintenance windows
n




- Support cyber security incident investigations through tenant security settings, message tracing, and audit log analysis
n

About you nn
- Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field (or equivalent practical experience)
n
- Minimum of 5 to 7 years of hands-on engineering experience administering large-scale enterprise Microsoft 365 tenants and Exchange Online
n
- Advanced scripting capabilities using PowerShell and Microsoft Graph API for automation and tenant management
n
- Microsoft 365 Certified: Enterprise Administrator Expert or Messaging Administrator Associate certifications are highly desirable
n
- Deep technical mastery of M365 tenant architecture, Exchange Online messaging pipelines, hybrid mail routing, and object synchronization
n
- Expert-level proficiency in Microsoft 365 Admin Center, Exchange Admin Center, PowerShell, Graph API, and Entra Connect/Cloud Sync
n
- Solid collaboration skills to align M365 feature rollouts with business productivity requirements and IT service desk workflows
n
- Self-driven technical ownership to lead platform updates, tenant migrations, and infrastructure maintenance windows
n
- Passion for eliminating manual administration through scriptable workflows, automated provisioning, and self-service capabilities
