About the role

This is a hands-on, client-facing position with responsibility for managing mechanical projects from initial client enquiry and estimating through to execution, delivery and final close-out. You will work directly with clients and coordinate closely with Engineering, Workshop, Procurement and Site teams to ensure projects are accurately scoped and estimated, commercially successful, and delivered safely, on time, within budget and to the required technical and quality standards.

Key responsibilities

- Build and maintain strong working relationships with existing and prospective clients
- Act as a key point of contact throughout the enquiry, quotation and project delivery process
- Attend client meetings, site inspections, scope reviews and project meetings
- Review client enquiries, drawings, technical specifications and scopes of work
- Develop detailed scopes of work, estimates and customer quotations
- Prepare labour, material, equipment and subcontractor cost estimates
- Manage projects from purchase order through planning, execution, delivery and final close-out
- Monitor project costs, budgets, margins, schedules and delivery commitments
- Identify, document and commercially manage project variations and additional works
- Provide clients with clear and timely updates on project progress, technical matters and commercial issues

About you

- Trade, engineering or technical qualifications in Mechanical Engineering, Mechanical Fitting or a related discipline
- Demonstrated project management experience within mechanical maintenance, repair, refurbishment, manufacturing or industrial services
- Strong estimating and commercial skills
- Good understanding of project costing,



budgets, margins and cost control
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, specifications and scopes of work
- Solid planning, scheduling and organisational skills
- Confidence dealing directly with clients, suppliers, subcontractors and internal stakeholders
- Practical understanding of workshop and site-based mechanical activities
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to coordinate and manage multiple projects and competing priorities
