The opportunity

We have an exciting opportunity for a Project Officer to join the EPA.

The Project Officer

Audit and Assurance supports the Audit and Assurance Branch to conduct audits, supports the team with the provision of documentation to the Audit Office NSW throughout the performance audit on the Regulation of Hazardous Waste, and administrative tasks that may arise

About you

The ideal candidate will possess the following qualities:

- Strong coordination skills to manage audit-related document requests, meetings, interviews and queries from external stakeholders, including the Audit Office of NSW.
- Strong analytical capability across business information, audit evidence, program data, findings and stakeholder feedback to identify risks, trends and improvement opportunities.
- Excellent written communication skills, including preparation of transparent, accurate and well-structured briefings, advice, correspondence, reports and recommendations.
- Sound research and evaluation skills to support evidence-based insights, risk management and improved audit and assurance outcomes.
- Strong stakeholder engagement skills, supporting effective collaboration with internal stakeholders and informed decision-making across business areas.

About the team

Audit and Assurance Team The Audit and Assurance team sits within the Governance and Integrity Branch of the EPA. The team conducts internal audits, internal reviews (as required),
