The Project Officer will undertake a range of activities under the supervision of the Director, Fisheries Program. The key activity for this position includes:
1. Work independently and with our team to support and assist in the daily operations of a vibrant Fisheries team.
2. Actively monitor the Fisheries Program budget and ensure fisheries expenditure is accurately recorded and reported in accordance with agreed timeframes.
3. Computer-based data entry including requisitions, purchase orders, invoicing, correspondence management, and Committee member entitlements.
4. Oversee the Fisheries inbox, ensuring enquiries and correspondence are managed effectively and within required timeframes, and lead initiatives to improve the team's use of SharePoint through the development and implementation of best-practice information management processes.
5. Coordinate logistics for meetings including travel, accommodation, meeting venue and catering as required.
6. Assist and support team members with TSRA,
Fisheries Advisory Committee and Protected Zone Joint Authority meetings including agenda papers, minutes, action items and general correspondence.
7. Assist in developing media and communications to promote our work.
8. Liaise with internal and external stakeholders in a culturally respectful and inclusive manner to ensure positive outcomes.
9. Assist in contract management and administration of grants by maintaining appropriate databases, reporting and supporting timely electronic record keeping.
10. Other duties as required to support the team to achieve outcomes.
