Support engineers, production and quality records in a practical manufacturing role
Looking for a full time role with family-friendly flexibility? Join Hofmann Engineering’s Bendigo team and support engineers, project managers and production staff manufacturing major steel components for transport, defence, mining and infrastructure projects.
The role is generally worked on site five days per week, with flexibility around start and finish times by agreement, provided 38 hours per week and operational priorities are met. Early starts and finishes are possible, including approximately 7:30 am to 4:00 pm or has something come up out of the blue and you need to attend an afternoon appointment, we understand that life happens.
Why This Role Matters
Our products involve thousands of welds and manufacturing steps that must be inspected, recorded and traceable. You will help keep documentation accurate, complete and controlled while following up missing information and supporting project delivery.
Key duties include
- Maintaining manufacturing and project records.
- Raising Inspection and Test Plans and managing inspection documentation.
- Creating purchase orders for materials and services.
- Controlling the printing, distribution and archiving of drawings and records.
- Checking revisions, approvals, signatures and document completeness.
- Entering data and preparing reports in our internal ERP system.
- Taking meeting minutes,
tracking actions and supporting job closure.
- Providing general administration, including phones, reception relief, visitors, printing, filing and meeting support.
Manufacturing experience is not essential—we will train you in our ERP and processes. Experience in administration, purchasing, accounts, quality, production, logistics, construction, automotive, transport or another records-focused environment will be highly regarded.
About you
You will have
- Attention to detail.
- Good Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook skills.
- Confidence following up engineers, supervisors, tradespeople and suppliers.
- The ability to manage competing priorities and learn new systems.
- A professional, reliable and team-oriented approach.
- Willingness to perform both technical administration and routine office support.
Essential requirements
- Australian citizenship or permanent residency.
- Ability to work on site in Bendigo five days per week.
- Willingness to complete required identity, reference, medical and drug/alcohol checks.
