Specialist Grief and Bereavement Services (SGBS) to provide personalised grief and bereavement care (GBC) for people who are dying from a life-limiting illness as well as the communities bereaved following their death, and as a consequence, require routine, additional or high-level biopsychosocial GBC.

The Role An opportunity has become available for a Psychologist/Social Worker – Senior (Bereavement) to join Gold Coast Health (GCH) where the focus of our 14 000-strong team is on providing world-class health care to people living in the Gold Coast, and northern New South Wales region of Australia.

You will

- Conduct high quality person-centred comprehensive assessment and intervention.
- Participate in quality improvement activities and apply clinical evidence.
- Provide high level clinical skills and consultancy that will support and strengthen grief, loss, and bereavement responses.
- Demonstrate a high level of knowledge and skills in grief, loss, and bereavement care.
- Demonstrate high level communication skills.

About you To be successful in this position you will require:

- A tertiary degree in Psychology, Social Work, or equivalent.
- Registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA), Australian Association of Social Workers (AASW), or associated boards.
- Paid Blue Card (Working with Children Check)
- Evidence of vaccination, or be able to be vaccinated against and remain vaccinated against - Measles, Mumps, Rubella, Varicella, Pertussis and Hepatitis B
- Tuberculosis screening, to identify if the tuberculosis vaccination may be required
- Driver Licence
- Declaration of serious discipline history must be disclosed
- Criminal History Screening will be required for new employees (GCH will cover cost)

Salary

- Permanent part time (38 hours per fortnight), temporary part time (up to six months with the possibility of extension, 38 hours per fortnight)
- Base salary ranging from $64.64 - $69.55 per hour
