About Mind-Care

Mind-Care provides psychology, psychiatry and neurology services for adolescents and adults, in person at our Charlestown clinic and by telehealth across Australia.

Mind-Care is part of the Educare Group, which has provided multidisciplinary care from its Charlestown group office since 1999. Our referrals come from GPs, the NDIS, workers’ compensation insurers and clients who find us directly.

The role

We are looking for a psychologist who enjoys both therapy and assessment, to join us on a contractor basis, in person or by telehealth.

You will

- Provide evidence-based therapy to adolescents and adults
- Conduct comprehensive assessments, including adult ADHD and autism, cognitive and learning, NDIS functional capacity and workers’ compensation assessments
- Write clear, timely reports for GPs, the NDIS, insurers and other referrers
- Work with psychiatry, neurology and allied health colleagues where clients see more than one clinician

Versatile days and location

We are looking for a clinician interested in 2 to 4 days per week at the moment. You choose the days and times that suit you, and you can work from our Charlestown clinic or remotely from anywhere in Australia.

Opportunity to work with children and families

If you are interested in working with children, we welcome it. Clinicians working in person at Charlestown can also see children, young people and families through the Educare Group, alongside occupational therapists, speech pathologists and behaviour support practitioners.

- Administrative support with intake, bookings, billing and report coordination
- An in-house assessment library, including WAIS-IV, WMS-IV, D-KEFS, ADOS, ADI-R, Conners, BRIEF, Vineland-3 and Novopsych
- Monthly professional development meetings in general psychology, assessment and multidisciplinary practice
- Peer consultation, supervision and a clear escalation pathway for clinical risk
- Collaboration with psychiatrists, neurologists and allied health clinicians across the group

About you

Essential

- General registration with AHPRA and eligibility for a Medicare provider number
- Experience in both psychological assessment and therapy
- Clear, timely report writing
- A collaborative approach and comfort working within shared governance, including same-day case notes, meeting attendance and file audits
- A private, secure telehealth setup (remote applicants)

Desirable
- Area of practice endorsement
- SIRA approval for NSW workers’ compensation
- NDIS reporting experience
- Further training in a specific modality (e.g. EMDR, DBT)
- Experience delivering assessment by telehealth
- Interest in working with children and families

All clinicians complete credentialing before commencement, including a Working with Children Check, National Police Check and NDIS Worker Screening Check.
