/n Mater Townsville’s Coronary Care and Cardiothoracic Unit (CCU/CTU) is seeking experienced and dedicated Registered Nurses to join our team.

We offer excellent flexibility, with opportunities ranging from Permanent Part-Time (0.6 FTE) through to Full-Time and Casual employment available. Choose the arrangement that best suits your lifestyle! To be considered for this opportunity, this role requires participation in a 24/7 rotating roster including morning, afternoon, and night shifts. /n

/n Our Cardiothoracic & Coronary Care Unit is a 20-bed unit (7 dedicated Coronary Care beds), providing a high level of care for acutely ill and chronic cardiovascular/cardiothoracic patients, catering for elective and emergency admissions. Offering a wide variety of cardiac services to the community the team strives for excellence in customer care and best practice. /n Salary range: $44.06 - $56.52 per hour plus superannuation and access to not-for-profit salary packaging up to $15,900 + access to many staff benefits! /n What you’ll be doing /n

/n /n

- Delivering and evaluating evidence‑based nursing care within your scope of practice

/n

- Advocating for patients through education, informed consent, and shared decision‑making

/n

- Promoting a safe, respectful, and supportive clinical environment that upholds patient dignity, privacy, and wellbeing

/n

- Adhering to Infection Prevention and Control standards and safe clinical practices

/n

- Complying with organisational policies, procedures, and clinical guidelines

/n

- Monitoring patients pre‑, intra‑, and post‑procedure to ensure safety, comfort, and optimal outcomes

/n

- Administering medications, managing IV therapies, and assisting with diagnostic and interventional cardiac procedures

/n

- Providing education to patients and families regarding post‑procedure care, recovery, and lifestyle modifications

/n





- Maintaining accurate, timely, and comprehensive clinical documentation in line with regulatory and professional standards

/n About you /n To be successful in this role you will possess: /n

/n /n

- Current registration as a Registered Nurse with AHPRA

/n

- Demonstrated experience in critical care nursing

/n

- Previous experience within a cardiac ward setting

/n

- /n

/n Visa sponsorship may be considered for exceptional international applicants with demonstrated extensive experience in cardiac care./n

/n

- Critical Care Certificate (or currently working towards) – desirable but not essential

/n

- Strong clinical assessment, problem‑solving, and care coordination skills

/n

- Availability to work across a 24/7 rotating roster, including nights and weekends

/n

- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to maintain accurate clinical and assessment documentation
