Provide excellent patient focused, evidence-based nursing care for patients with acute cardiac events and interventions in our Southport facility.
The Role An opportunity has become available for several Registered Nurses (Coronary Care Unit - Cardiac) to join Gold Coast Health (GCH) where the focus of our 14 000-solid team is on providing world-class health care to people living in the Gold Coast, and northern New South Wales region of Australia.
You will
- Demonstrate 12 lead Electrocardiography (ECG) interpretation and arrhythmia management
- Exemplify experience in the field of cardiac/critical care nursing
- Role model excellent patient focused, evidence-based nursing care for patients with acute cardiac events and interventions
- Manage pre and post procedural cardiac catheter suite interventions
About you To be successful in this position you will require:
- Bachelor of Nursing or equivalent
- Registration with the Nursing Midwifery Board of Australia
- Evidence of vaccination, or be able to be vaccinated against and remain vaccinated against - Measles, Mumps, Rubella, Varicella, Pertussis and Hepatitis B
- Tuberculosis screening, to identify if the tuberculosis vaccination may be required
- Declaration of serious discipline history must be disclosed
- Criminal History Screening will be required for new employees (GCH will cover cost)

Salary
- Permanent part time (several positions, 56 - 64 hours per fortnight)
- Base salary ranging from $44.27 - $56.79 per hour
About Us The Coronary Care Unit (CCU) / Cardiac Services Inpatient Unit operates from B block, level 4, north (B4N)
at Gold Coast University Hospital (GCUH). This unit encompasses 8 CCU beds and 16 Cardiology beds. Nursing care is delivered by knowledgeable, skilled clinical nurse, registered nurses and enrolled nurses utilising a team nursing model.
The unit is a tertiary level service that offers a supportive environment in which to build skill and gain experience. Post graduate education is encouraged and supported. Regular in-service and workshops are provided, and the Registered Nurse (RN) is expected to attend and deliver designated education sessions. A Clinical Facilitator (CF) and Clinical Nurse Educator (CN) are available Monday to Friday.
