Where you'll be working
Tamworth Emergency Department is a busy, dynamic and rewarding clinical environment providing care to a diverse range of patients from across the New England North West region. We provide a comprehensive emergency service with three resuscitation bays, an acute care area, a dedicated paediatric emergency area, Fast Track, Emergency Short Stay Unit (ESSU), Mental Health services and a co-located retrieval service.
About the role
As a Level 5 Rural Referral Emergency Department, you will have the opportunity to care for patients presenting with a broad range of acute, complex and life-threatening conditions.

What you'll be doing
Reporting to the Clinical Nurse Unit Manager on shift and the ED Nurse Manager, you will:
- Undertake rapid assessment, triage and ongoing monitoring of patients presenting with a wide range of emergency conditions.
- Recognise and respond appropriately to clinical deterioration, trauma presentations, medical emergencies and resuscitation events.
- Administer medications, intravenous therapies, blood products and other treatments in accordance with policies and procedures.
- Perform and assist with emergency procedures, including intravenous cannulation, wound management, ECGs and specimen collection.
- Participate in advanced life support and resuscitation interventions.
About you
We are looking for an experienced Emergency Department Registered Nurse who is clinically capable, adaptable and committed to delivering safe, high-quality patient care in a fast-paced environment. Recent Emergency Department nursing experience will be highly regarded.

- Current Registration with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia.
