/n About the Role /n

/n

/n The unit is a purpose-built facility set against a picturesque backdrop of the Yarra River and bush surrounds. If you are passionate about palliative care and have a robust commitment for evidence based, patient centred care we would love to hear from you.

Duties include

- /n

/n /n

- /n The demonstration of a person-centred approach in all aspects of daily nursing practice /n /n

/n

/n /n

- /n The identification and corrective management of patient risks including skin integrity, falls and medication management. /n /n

/n

/n /n

- /n Liaise with the patient, patient’s family, medical and ancillary staff as or requested /n /n

/n

/n /n

- /n Actively participate and contribute to all quality improvements including monthly audits /n /n

/n

/n /n

- /n Act as a role model and support for junior staff in all clinical aspects /n /n

/n

/n /n Classification for this position will be YP3 - YP9 ($69,253.60 - $92,601.60 per annum pro rata) /n

- /n Completed Bachelor of Nursing Degree with AHPRA registration /n /n

- /n Specialist Palliative Care experience is essential /n /n

- /n Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively in a multi-disciplinary environment /n /n

- /n Motivated professional with exceptional communication and time management skills /n /n

/n The palliative care in-patient unit at Caritas Christi Kew specialises in the care of patients with life limiting illnesses who may also have multiple medical co-morbidities. Our patients are admitted for end-of-life care, symptom management and occasional respite. Specialised assessment, care and discharge planning is provided by an inter-disciplinary team.
