/n Clinical Nurse – Recovery Stage 1 & Recovery Stage 2 positions available /n About the role /n Mater Private Hospital Townsville has an opportunity for an experienced Recovery Nurse to join the Perioperative team. The successful applicants will secure a 12month fixed term contract covering maternity leave. We have 2 positions vacant across Recovery Stage 1 & recovery Stage 2. /n Our Perioperative Services department at Mater Private Hospital Townsville (MPHT) provides surgical services across 16 theatres and caters for adults and paediatrics with a variety of surgical specialities.

MPHT boasts brand new state of the art theatre facilities, a catheterization laboratory and separate onsite day site surgery facilities. /n Salary range: $54.21 - $58.08 per hour plus superannuation and up to $15,900 salary packaging annually /n What you’ll be doing /n As an experience clinical nurse, you will be responsible for ensuring a safe, efficient and effective service is provided to patients and Visiting Medical Officer’s within Perioperative Services. /n /n

- Be a role-model in all aspects of leadership and promote a positive team culture within the unit

/n

- Leadership and coordination of the Day Surgery unit

/n

- Demonstrate professionalism at all times

/n

- Provision and coordination of care including assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation of care

/n

- Monitoring outcomes and initiating/advocating changes to processes and practices

/n

- Participating in the review, development and implementation of relevant policies, procedures and clinical protocols

/n

- Participates and promotes clinical meetings in a multidisciplinary setting

/n /n About you /n To be successful in this role you will possess: /n /n

- Relevant qualifications and Registration with AHPRA

/n

- A minimum of 3-4 years’ recent experience as a Stage 1or Stage 1 Recovery Nurse.

/n





- Relevant postgraduate qualifications will be highly regarded although not essential

/n

- Have knowledge and experience in Theatres, anaesthetics and or recovery

/n

- Prior comparable experience in a leadership/supervisory role in a health care environment

/n

- Demonstrated ability to work well within a multidisciplinary team

/n

- Strong knowledge of continuous improvement process, coupled with the proven ability to initiate, coordinate and evaluate quality improvement measures

/n

- Demonstrated knowledge and application of Workplace Health and Safety, Infection Control and Clinical Risk policies are also of value.
