Position Summary The Relationship Manager manages a portfolio of commercial clients by assessing credit risk, handling claims, making underwriting decisions and maintaining client relationships. The role makes sure guarantee facilities are sound, well structured and correctly priced and sit within Credeq’s risk appetite, while supporting the division’s workflow and business development goals.

Key Responsibilities

- Carry out accurate and timely credit risk assessments on current and existing guarantee applications.
- Prepare financial analysis, spread financial statements and write underwriting submissions for secondary sign-off by the Senior Relationship Manager, with decisions made within delegated authority or escalated.
- Ensure assessments and workflows meet internal credit policy, risk parameters and regulatory requirements.
- Work with senior team members to design security structures and counter-indemnities that protect Credeq and support recovery.
- Manage ongoing risk across the client portfolio, including covenant checks and annual exposure reviews.
- Process and administer incoming claims, gather evidence, validate notice requirements and keep claims registers up to date.




- Handle claims administration, set up recovery files, update provisions and prepare claims summaries for senior review.
- Manage transaction queries, facility corrections and security amendments while keeping records accurate.
- Build positive relationships with brokers and clients, and run credit meetings to work through client financials.
- Carry out general administration, including shared inbox management, document follow-ups and portfolio reporting.

Requirements & Qualifications

- Hold a business-based tertiary qualification or have equivalent corporate finance or credit experience.
- Strong numerical and financial analysis skills, with the confidence to discuss balance sheet metrics with external partners.
- A sound understanding of security structures, credit documentation and insurance concepts.
- Strong work habits, attention to detail and a team-first approach.
- Minimum Experience: 5 years experience in commercial credit risk management, financial lines underwriting or the corporate finance function of a commercial lending institution.
