SAFETY & COMPLIANCE MANAGER - part time or full time n

Paddock to Port is a Container Management & Transport business based in the western suburbs of Melbourne. We offer a range of services for our clients, from container management to quarantine and warehousing.

We are seeking an experienced and proactiveSafety & Compliance ManagerVIC/TAS - part time or full time to lead and manage regulatory compliance across our operations. This critical role ensures the business meets its compliance obligations under OH&S;, Heavy Vehicle National Law and other associated regulations.

You will partner with management and work collaboratively alongside internal and external stakeholders to build a robust culture of compliance, safety and accountability.

n

This role demands a comprehensive understanding of Chain of Responsibility, NHVR and Occupational Health and Safety.

n

Remuneration package will be negotiated based on experience and qualifications.

Key Responsibilities Regulatory Compliance & Governance: n

n
- Monitor, manage and report on legislative and regulatory developments.
n
- Provide expert advice and guidance to management on compliance obligations.
n
- Develop, implement and maintain policies and procedures.
n
- Coordinate and lead NHVR audits.
n
- Manage Accreditations & NHVAS compliance, including NHVR Portal maintenance.
n
- Customer and supplier compliance and assurance.
n
- Maintain and continuously improve the Safety Management System (SMS)



to ensure it remains effective, compliant and up to date.
n
- Conduct compliance toolbox talks, risk assessments, safety audits and hazard management activities.
n
- Coordinate and verify compliance activities across NHVR, HACCP and PBS frameworks.
n
- Lead driver and subcontractor inductions, compliance checks and corrective action processes.
n
- Conduct monthly audits in collaboration with the Transport, Warehouse, Equipment and Maintenance teams.
n
- Oversee incident reporting and corrective actions across all sites.
n
- Lead incident investigations in collaboration with key stakeholders.
n
- Maintain incident register and safety documentation.
n

Mass Management: nn
- Partner with Group Operations Manager / Transport Operations Manager to monitor and manage Mass Management inductions, onboarding and maintenance.
n

The Ideal Candidate n

is a detail-oriented compliance professional with strong working knowledge of heavy vehicle legislation and safety frameworks. You are confident leading audits, investigations and regulatory interactions, and you thrive in a role that requires structure, accountability and continuous improvement.

- Experience in the transport and logistics industry.

- Excellent stakeholder engagement and communication skills.

- Strong knowledge of NHVR, CoR, Dangerous Goods and Fatigue Management & OHS legislation

- Strong analytical and documentation skills.

- The ability to influence and drive compliance culture across diverse teams.
