FORAM SKY PTY LTD, trading as Friends Grocer, is a retail grocery business focused on providing customers with a convenient and reliable shopping experience. Operating in the grocery retail sector, the business is committed to maintaining efficient store operations, quality customer service and a well-presented retail environment.

As the business continues to operate and grow, Friends Grocer is seeking an experienced Retail Manager to oversee day-to-day store operations, lead staff, maintain high customer service standards and support the overall performance of the business.

Some of the duties and responsibility are:

 Oversee the day-to-day operations of Friends Grocer, ensuring the store is efficiently managed and provides a high standard of customer service.

 Determine appropriate product ranges, product mix, stock levels and service standards based on customer needs and store requirements.

 Develop and implement purchasing strategies to maintain adequate stock levels,

minimise wastage and ensure products are available to customers.

 Formulate and implement pricing, purchasing and promotional strategies in line with business objectives and market conditions.

 Coordinate and implement marketing, promotional and advertising activities to promote the store’s products, services and special offers.

 Monitor sales performance and identify opportunities to improve revenue,

customer satisfaction and overall store performance.

 Assist customers with product selection, provide information about products and ensure a positive shopping experience.

 Maintain accurate records of stock levels, sales, purchases, expenses and financial transactions.

 Monitor inventory and coordinate stock ordering, receiving, storage and replenishment to ensure efficient stock management.

 Prepare and manage store budgets,



monitor expenditure and assist with achieving financial and operational targets.

 Recruit, select, train, supervise and support retail staff to ensure employees understand their responsibilities and maintain expected service standards.

 Prepare staff rosters and allocate duties to ensure appropriate staffing levels across store operations.

 Monitor staff performance and provide guidance, training and feedback as required.

 Ensure the store is clean, organised, well-presented and maintained in accordance with Friends Grocer’s service and presentation standards.

 Ensure compliance with occupational health and safety (WHS/OHS)

requirements, company policies and relevant retail regulations.

 Monitor workplace safety, identify potential hazards and take appropriate action to maintain a safe environment for staff and customers.

 Liaise with suppliers, distributors and other business partners to ensure timely delivery of stock and effective supply management.

 Handle customer enquiries, feedback and complaints professionally and take appropriate action to resolve issues.

 Analyse sales, stock and financial information and provide reports and recommendations to business owners or senior management.

 Implement strategies to improve operational efficiency, control costs and support the continued growth and success of Friends Grocer.

Skills and Qualifications

 Academic Qualification: Bachelor’s degree in Business Management or a related field.

 Minimum 1–2 years of relevant experience in retail management,



grocery retail,

store management or a related field.

 Demonstrated experience managing day-to-day retail store operations,

preferably within a grocery or supermarket environment.

 Strong knowledge of stock management, purchasing, inventory control and merchandising.

 Ability to monitor product ranges, stock levels, pricing and sales performance.

 Strong leadership skills with the ability to recruit, train, supervise and motivate staff.

 Excellent customer service and communication skills, with the ability to handle customer enquiries and resolve issues professionally.

 Strong financial and business management skills, including budgeting, cost control and monitoring sales performance.

 Ability to develop and implement purchasing, pricing, promotional and marketing strategies.

 Robust organisational and time-management skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines.

 Good analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to review sales, stock and financial information.

 Knowledge of WHS/OHS requirements and the ability to maintain a safe workplace for staff and customers.

 Ability to build and maintain positive relationships with suppliers, customers,

employees and business partners.

 Strong attention to detail and commitment to maintaining high standards of store presentation, service and operational efficiency.

 Ability to work independently and take initiative while also working effectively as part of a team.
