Store Manager — Paddington

Role Description

We are seeking an experienced and highly driven Store Manager to lead our Sydney Flagship store. This is a fixed-term full-time position.

This role requires a hands-on leader who can operate at pace, take full ownership of store performance, and build a high-performing retail setting from the ground up. You will work closely with the Retail Operations Manager and Head Office team to ensure seamless execution across all areas of the business.

You will be responsible for driving revenue, managing store operations, leading the team, and delivering a premium in-store customer experience that reflects the Mode Mischief brand.

Key Responsibilities

- Take full ownership of daily store operations and floor leadership, ensuring operational excellence and efficiency
- Lead, motivate, and develop the retail team to achieve and exceed sales targets and service standards
- Own staff management and role assignment across the floor, ensuring the right coverage at the right times
- Monitor individual and store performance against targets, providing feedback and coaching to support growth
- Act as the primary point of contact with the Retail Operations Manager and Head Office, aligning store performance with company objectives and providing regular trading updates
- Manage staff scheduling, training, and onboarding to maintain a skilled and engaged team




- Drive and audit consistent visual merchandising standards, maintaining store presentation to brand guidelines
- Oversee opening and closing procedures, inventory management, cycle counts, and loss prevention efforts, including managing inventory replenishment requests
- Proactively identify operational challenges and implement effective solutions
- Represent the brand with professionalism and integrity at all times
- Mentor and develop the Assistant Store Manager to build strong succession capability
- Conduct regular one-on-ones and performance reviews with team members
- Manage rostering and payroll accuracy in line with budgeted labour hours
- Ensure compliance with workplace health & safety and employment obligations
- Represent the store in cross-functional planning (e.g. marketing activations, product launches)

Qualifications and Experience

- 3 - 5 years of retail and retail management experience Demonstrated ability to train employees and be an effective salesperson
- Demonstrated leadership and team management capabilities
- Exceptional customer service and communication skills
- Strong organisational and problem-solving aptitude
- Ability to enforce operational standards and compliance
- Knowledge of visual merchandising best practices
- Ability to thrive in a dynamic environment with competing priorities
- Knowledge and passion for the brand
