Hays is partnering with a respected organisation to recruit a Safeguarding Manager on an initial 12-month fixed-term contract with a strong likelihood of extension. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced safeguarding practitioner to step into a senior leadership position with responsibility for strategy, investigations, compliance, training, assurance, and continuous improvement initiatives.

Your new role

Reporting to a senior executive leader, you will lead the organisation's safeguarding function and be responsible for ensuring best-practice safeguarding frameworks, compliance, and risk management processes are embedded across the organisation.

Key responsibilities include

- Lead safeguarding strategy, compliance and risk management initiatives
- Manage safeguarding incidents and oversee complex investigations
- Provide trusted advice to executive and governance stakeholders
- Develop and enhance safeguarding frameworks, policies and training
- Drive legislative compliance, assurance reporting and continuous improvement
- Build strong stakeholder relationships and foster a positive safeguarding culture





What you'll need to succeed To be successful, you will demonstrate:

- Significant experience in safeguarding, child protection, community services, risk, investigations, or a related field
- Strong investigation experience, including interviewing vulnerable individuals
- Sound knowledge of Child Safe Standards, Reportable Conduct Schemes, and safeguarding legislation
- Experience developing policies, frameworks, compliance programs, and training initiatives
- Exceptional stakeholder engagement and communication skills
- Strong analytical, reporting, and problem-solving capabilities
- A current Blue Card or ability to obtain one
