Senior Residential Estimator – Sales & Procurement The Bourne Group Australia Pty Ltd

Full-time | Castle Hill, NSW | Salary based on experience The Bourne Group is looking for an experienced Senior Residential Estimator to manage sales estimating, pre-construction pricing and procurement across our residential building projects.

This is a senior position for someone who can take an opportunity from initial plans and client discussions through to a complete construction estimate, contract price, procurement plan and project handover.

The role

Your responsibilities will include

- Reviewing architectural plans, engineering, specifications and client requirements
- Preparing feasibility estimates, preliminary budgets and detailed construction estimates
- Completing quantity take-offs and trade costings
- Preparing quotations and tender submissions
- Attending client and consultant meetings when pricing input is required
- Explaining allowances, exclusions, Prime Cost items and Provisional Sums
- Helping management convert suitable enquiries into profitable building contracts
- Preparing and issuing subcontractor and supplier RFQs
- Following up quotations and preparing like-for-like comparisons; identifying missing scope, documentation gaps and commercial risks
- Maintaining current subcontractor, supplier and material pricing
- Preparing trade budgets, scopes, purchase orders and procurement schedules
- Identifying long-lead items and tracking required orders
- Protecting the company’s gross margin and avoiding unpriced risk
- Providing a clear estimating and procurement handover to the construction team
- Comparing estimated costs against actual project costs and improving future pricing





About you

You will have

- Strong residential construction estimating experience
- Experience pricing custom homes, current builds, renovations or substantial extensions
- Excellent plan-reading and quantity take-off skills
- A practical understanding of construction methods, sequencing and trade scopes
- Experience obtaining and comparing subcontractor and supplier quotations
- Strong commercial judgement and an understanding of margin protection
- Confidence discussing budgets, pricing and scope with clients and consultants
- Good organisational, communication and follow-up skills
- Strong Excel and general computer skills
- Australian working rights

Experience with residential estimating software, procurement systems or construction-management platforms will be highly regarded. A quantity surveying, construction management, building or trade background would also be an advantage.
