We have 35 member Aboriginal Community Controlled Organisations providing support to over 78,000 Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people across the state. We lead and support Aboriginal Community Control and the broader health and social services sector to deliver transformative health and wellbeing outcomes for Aboriginal communities in Victoria. About the role The Senior Advisor– Social Emotional Wellbeing (SEWB) projects, plays a pivotal role in leading and overseeing the development, implementation, and strategic refinement of social emotional wellbeing projects within the Balit Durn Durn Centre. This role will manage a range of SEWB projects including the establishment of project plans, timelines, budgets and resourcing to ensure that SEWB project areas such as justice, AOD, Mental illness, are being considered holistically and interdependently. This ensures the team works in a proactive and streamlined way, to prevent duplication of work and promote knowledge sharing across the team.

This role will also lead the development of strategic projects including frameworks, models of care, culturally informed assessment and practice tools, and Indigenous knowledge streams.





Essential skills/experiences

Experience in managing community-led projects, particularly in Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander contexts.

- Strong ability to influence and collaborate with a wide range of stakeholders, including government bodies, ACCOs, and sector leaders, to drive systemic change.
- Expertise in translating and embedding research, evidence, community needs, into actionable strategies and projects that align with organisational and community goals.
- A deep commitment to cultural safety, self-determination, and community empowerment principles, with a proven track record of driving culturally responsive change.
- Demonstrated proficiency and experience using Microsoft applications (e.g., Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, Project Management) combined with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.

- Demonstrated leadership ability, including team management and capacity building
