How will you contribute?

Joining the Audit Office means being part of a team dedicated to excellence, integrity, and making a tangible difference for the people of NSW. Reporting to an Associate Director, this position presents a great opportunity to supervise a group of people while working on a variety of audits. Primary responsibilities will be dealing with the day-to-day running of audits, regularly liaising with the Associate Director to produce high-quality audits, mentoring, coaching and motivating the staff you are supervising.

Key accountabilities of this role include:

- Ensuring all audit work is completed effectively and efficiently and meets the requirements of the Audit Office's audit methodology, professional standards and legislation.
- Providing audit team members with appropriate supervision, coaching and opportunities to enhance audit knowledge and skills through on-the-job training.
- Ensuring quality and timely audit outcomes are achieved by maintaining strong and professional relationships with clients and proactively communicating with internal and external stakeholders.
- Identifying and resolve issues which have the potential to adversely affect outcomes and timeframes, and where appropriate escalate to the Associate Director.




- Providing sound and well-reasoned audit documentation to support assurance opinions.
- Contributing to the development of compelling reports with observations and recommendations that are supported by appropriate evidence and analysis of data.

What will you need to succeed?

We are seeking candidates who possess leadership skills with the ability to engage, motivate and develop staff. You will also have:

- proven ability to manage multiple priorities (including time management of tasks and staff)
- experience working on a range of complex and diverse clients
- influenced stakeholders to adopt audit recommendations.

Essential requirements:
- tertiary qualification in an appropriate business discipline
- full membership of CPA Australia, Chartered Accountants Australia and New Zealand or the Institute of Public Accountants
- proficient understanding and knowledge of relevant legislation, professional standards, auditing concepts and techniques
- Australian permanent resident or citizen or New Zealand citizen.

We provide genuine flexibility in the way we work, along with competitive benefits. On offer is a 35-hour work week and a total remuneration package (including superannuation) from $122,681 to $161,775 per annum depending on your experience, skills and capabilities.

This is a Sydney based role.

The Audit

Office is committed to supporting flexible working arrangements to create a diverse, skilled and motivated workforce capable of delivering quality products and efficient services. Our standard way of working requires you to work at least 50% of contracted hours from either our head office, an auditee location, or a related worksite. If required, you can balance your attendance on-site over a month, with a minimum of one day per week in one of these locations.

Please note some regional travel within New South Wales may be required for this role.
