Our client is a specialist environmental engineering consultancy delivering water, environmental and infrastructure projects across Queensland.

A significant part of their work is focused on rivers, waterways, flood modelling and environmental remediation, including projects aimed at reducing erosion and sediment entering Great Barrier Reef catchments.

They work closely with government, local councils, mining, resources and infrastructure clients, delivering projects across North Queensland.

Position

We are seeking a Senior Civil / Structural Engineer to join the company's growing North Queensland team.

Ideally based in Townsville or Cairns, this role will focus on the design and delivery of civil and structural infrastructure projects, particularly infrastructure associated with roads, waterways and flood-prone environments.

The position would suit an experienced Civil or Structural Engineer with strong design capability who can take projects from concept and detailed design through to construction and handover.

You do not necessarily need to be equally strong across both civil and structural engineering – candidates with a robust background in either discipline will be considered.

Key Responsibilities

- Lead the civil and/or structural design of infrastructure projects.
- Deliver concept and detailed engineering designs.
- Design infrastructure associated with roads, waterways and flood environments.
- Work across projects involving bridges, culverts, causeways, floodways and road crossings.
- Undertake engineering calculations, analysis and design verification.
- Prepare and review drawings, specifications, reports and construction documentation.
- Coordinate civil, structural,



geotechnical, drainage and environmental disciplines.
- Manage projects from feasibility and design through to construction and handover.
- Provide technical guidance and mentoring to junior engineers.
- Manage client relationships and support the continued growth of the North Queensland business.

Requirements

- Degree in Civil or Structural Engineering.
- 7+ years' civil and/or structural engineering experience.
- RPEQ and/or CPEng.
- Strong hands-on civil or structural design capability.
- Experience delivering road and infrastructure projects.
- Experience with 12d, Civil 3D, OpenRoads, SpaceGass, MIDAS, Strand7 or similar would be advantageous.
- TMR, council or other government infrastructure experience would be highly regarded.
- Strong project management and client-facing capability.
